Guide On Making A Good Profile Blurb

Hello everyone!
I've been on roblox a few years now and I've seen many different profile blurbs, some of which were great! But some were terrible.

Profile blurbs really effect the following things.

  • The way people think about your robloxian.
  • Whether they should play your games.
  • How people think of you as a person.
  • Whether a person should help you.
  • Fame.
  • Messages that people send to you.
  • Friends.
A lot of people get confused and think that blurbs are just text areas that you just write any random thing. Well that's not the purpose.

In blurbs it's good to say more about your self, but remember do not include any personal details! Tell people what your good at, whether that is scripting, building, graphics or even making youtube videos. Also remember that your grammar is vital to be good, your grammar reflects on you as a robloxian.

From research some people think it's good to make check lists like this..
Get dream hat
Get _ Place Visits
Get _ Profile Views
Get _ Robux
Win a contest
Meet an admin

To be honest I quite like this idea, however I don't think it's wise as it takes up a lot of your blurb and it's just something for you to look at, not anyone else. Instead why not make a document on wordpad and do the checklist in there?

Something that I would recommend are what I call "Message Notices List" Basically, before someone messages you, they read your "Message Notices List" to see if they should message you or how they should speak to you.

"Message Notices List" Normally looks something like this..

() = Yes   (/) = Maybe/Sometimes  (X) = no
-----------------------------------
Do I donate?   (X)
Do I read all messages?  ()
Do I accept friend requests? (/)
Am I a good scripter?    ()
Do I talk in game a lot?   (/)
Do I like making clothes?     ()
Am I rich?    (X)

Some people think it's good to do a rap in they're blurb, I think this is fine, as long as you can actually come up with something good. Here's an example...

"Yo My Name Is TheJKid With my Neck-o-lace of gold,
People say I'm epic, coz that's what they' been told!

I am the leader of an awesome army,
active and growing there's much to see.

TheJTroopers are elite, so strong they fight,
Elite everyday and every night!

Pwning some noobs all the time,
Winning battles, representing they're sign!

Sometimes when I feel a little peckish,
I make cool games and top it off with relish!

I own an awesome roblox fansite, 500 pagviews a day,
Helping people is defiantly the way!

Yo, coz my has J,
It's yo way,
pwning every day,
no price to pay.

I own clock-works shades they look so cool,
people see me, it makes them drool!

Yeah, yeah TheJKid is my name,
Let it live, shout it out, let it reign!
J!"

Raps can include a lot about yourself as you can see. But if your going to do it, do it right! >:D

One of the best methods to use is by simply, laying it out neatly in paragraphs. But not making it too long. Use separators to split topics up. I used this method with my blurb, so I'll use mine as an example.

I am owner and developer of TheJKid's Roblox Updates a popular roblox website that keep's you updated with all the latest roblox tips, tricks, reviews and more! Find it by searching "TheJKid's Roblox Updates" in a search engine.

I hope this post has become a good use to you, I suggest looking over your blurb after reading this and think about it. Is it a good blurb, does it tell my friends what they need to know? Etc.

Thanks for reading!
